First Game in Ages

Had my first game in ages of LotR today (well, two games to be precise); was quite fun - lost the first won the second.

The first game was 400pts and saw my Rohirim allying with Saruman to face off against the Balrog. Predictably, the Balrog won, however, I did manage to deplete the Balrog's store of will and got it down to 5 wounds

In the second I fielded the same army, plus Hama and faced off against Gandalf and the Grey Company. Cowardly, I deployed in one corner and refused to move, ...

WD368 - Daemons

Ok so back to normal this month with the reviews....sort of, but I’ll get to that during the review.

So the new releases this month are mostly daemons. First the Daemon Prince for use in WOC, CSM and Chaos Daemons and I have to say I love the kit having seen the kit being made at my local. Next we have the Bloodcrushers of Throne where are great as well. It says that they are backwards compatible with the Bloodletters for more conversions which is nice, along with the next one, the Seekers ...

Well I've been promising for a while now so here is my WIP thread for the new Space Wolves.

At GamesDay 2009 I just had to buy some of the new Space Wolves and ended up spending about £100 on them

So far I've started building them up and have converted a Wolf Lord using one of the Masters of the Chapter models aswell as 1 Lone Wolf so far.

I also have 10 Chaos Wolves which I plan to convert into Fenrisian Wolves by sculpting over spikes and such.

I also have my previous Space Marines ...

Just purchased a box of the new Gripping Beast plastic Vikings (44 for £18 - what a steal ) I plan on turning them into Dunlendings and Rohirim. I also purchased a pack of these and a pack of these and this guy to go with them.

My club are thinking about running a demo day, so I thought it'd be nice use it as an excuse to buy some stuff. For a LotR demo (if we do do the day), I'm planning on having a Rohan vs Dunland battle. My plans are to use some of the plastic Vikings as Helmlingas ...

Alternative SKoDA

As those of you who've seen my thread in the army list board know, I'm planning on converting up some SKoDA. I thought that I'd make this thread to show how things are getting on.

So far, I've done a head swap on one of the knights:

I'm not too sure on the size of the head though. Sometime it loooks alright, and others it looks small. What do you guys think - should I just leave it, or should I try to bulk out the helm with green stuff?

New-post highlighting for sticky topic symbols?

Hey guys,

Having been away for such a long time I'm now in the process of trawling through everything I've missed out on and just thought I'd suggest this. As it is, the sticky topic symbol in any given forum does not highlight in the same way other topics do when a new post has been made. Perhaps there is a reason why they don't or maybe it's just a practical thing but I thought it'd make keeping track of updates in these threads a little easier...particularly when you've been away for as ...

Quote:Incoming: Misty Mountains

Khazad-dûm, nestled below the mighty peaks of the Misty Mountains was once the greatest of all Dwarven holds - a place of beauty, light and artisanship unequalled. Now, however, it is the haunt of Moria Goblins, lumbering Cave Trolls and other, more terrible creatures.

For generations the Dwarves have longed to reclaim their ancestral home, fighting long and bitter wars against the Goblins who have usurped their cherished kingdom beneath the mountains.
