| Dragon Knight is the chap with two scimitars, War Priest is the one with the spear/staff. |

| OK, now for my two cents: Personally, I confess myself disappointed... For many of them, I want to take any number of weapons and commit bodily harm to whomever Games Workshop hired as their conceptual artists. It seems as if little to no thought went into the design of these models. Weapons look ghastly, and the shields on those Uruk-hai are ludicrously large and clumsy looking! The Abrakhan Guard look like the typical American slob I see on a day to day basis, unable to even lift a sword and use it, and the ones holding the Goden King look like they'll tear a hole in their vast bloated mass as they attempt to draw their swords from their belts! The Golden King looks boring and unadorned...I would've expected him to have more...gold. He looks more like the slave owner and former gladiator Proximo from Gladiator than a King. The scuptors obviously have no understanding as to how fire works either, because if they did, the flames would be moving towards Kardush's outstretched hand, instead of away from it. The Haradrim look boring, the Easterlings look like some weird neogothic McDonold's crew people with their garish colour scheme...they might look better with decent ad subtle paintjobs... Overall I'm disappointed...at least the Space Wolves look cool...these just look lame. Thumbs down from Fenrir |

| I'd agree with the dissapointment there Fenrir. Nowhere near as good as I was hoping/expecting. The Haradrim Commanders and the Abrakhan Guard I consider the only miniatures here I actually like. Kardush the Firecaller looks crap, the fire is incredibly cheesy, hopefully he'll look better without it. The Easterling Commanders are ok I suppose. The Tower Guard however are a 100% complete dissapointment. The Golden King is okay but I wouldn't pay much for it. Boohoo GW, sort your act out. _________________ Regards, Jake. |

| I really dis like all the Haradrim and as a Evil men player i was really hoping for better modlas. Kardush looks ok but he would have looked way better without the fire ball. The Easterlings i quite like so i have no realy compate there only that the SBG have Dragon Knights as warriors and i don't want to buy 6 odd banner can war priests to get them. I must confest i like the Black Guard. They are very diffrent(Diffrent being the key word) and i love the unusal. I'm happy with them but the rest are a dispointment. I will be pre-ordering the 2 nazgul (As i want all 9 of the War Wratihs) and maybe the Easterlings but thats about it. _________________ Visit me on Youtube Here| Quote: | Heeding The Call, one and for all never surrender, with glory we'll fall Brothers unite, let's stand up and fight fulfilling our fate, we are Heeding The Call |

| These all look horrible. Black Guard: What's up with the shields? If they had crossbows, at least they could be justified as Pavaise shields, but as it stands, they're waaay too big to be useful for a close combat warrior. That said, if they were given Numenorean, WoMT, or SKoDA shields they'd work well as Black Numenoreans (apart from the banner bearer and drummer who look deformed). Don't like the Dragon Knight - the coat just looks out of place. The Priest looks ok to me and the banner bearer will fit in well with the current Easterlings (especially if a different design is used on the banner), but I still dislike them due to disagreeing with the film's interpretation of them. The Haradrim look wierdly misproportioned, although perhaps they'll look better with a different colour scheme (e.g. does the slave have a yellow shirt on, or is that bare skin on his arms? O.o ) Kardush looks horrible and would be more at home in a D&D setting than Middle-earth. If the fire was removed and a different paintscheme used he could be salvagable as an ordinary orc shaman :/ The King doesn't look that bad, although I agree with Fen that considering his name he could do with a richer looking appearence (that said, he could easily work as a normal king). As for the guys carrying him and the Abrakhan Guard.... WTF?What was the concept artist on when he designed these? | You could always try to hire Felix Paniagua of Avatars of War or Ergman of Madpuppet Miniatures for the SotDL sculpts depending on if they do commisions and prices. They're both fantastic sculptors and great people. _________________ Regards, Jake. |

| Have to say that I quite like the Black Guard in every respect, quite like the two Easterling models, but not the Easterling commander, and I quite like the new Haradrim King.. Just a little bit off, I would say; but different might work quite well on the battlefield. |

| Back home and greeted with this. I'm actually fairly happy with all these models. Contrary to what seems to be popular opinion, I love the new Black Guard. They embody so much character, really giving off the impression of Sauron's dark elite soldiers. Not so sure about the background of them if they're supposed to be normal Orcs, but I'm willing to remain open minded. The tower shields aren't too bad IMO either. Obviously they're for defensive purposes (which does seem a little at odd with the agressive nature of the Orc), but they're imposing and finish the whole well equipped impression. Nice symbols as well. If they were corrupted humans or something instead of Orcs, I'd have absolutely no problems at all. As it is, I've gotta work out whether there's some way I can include them in my army... Easterlings are cool, particularly the War Priest, and the banner stands out well (nice sun symbology). Little unsure about the Dragon Knight, looks a little like one of those mounted hybrids, but he's nice enough. Haradrim are alright. Bit uninspirational and the taskmaster looks a little thin. Agree that the king looks a bit boring. Is he supposed to be able to fight? If I was to use him, I'd come up with my own model. The Abrakhan Guard are interesting concepts. I understand what GW is going for with the largeness, their bulging strength and I approve to an extent. Maybe it's just me, but I can really picture these guys as part of Middle Earth. In their privledged position as royal guard, these arrogant men are able to share in the luxuries of the royal house. Fits in with the corrupted style view of the Haradrim. Looking at them, they really convey the image of powerful warriors but with little athletic ability. The kind of brute force that the king might keep around him. Lastly Kardush is a nice model except for the fireball (which can be fixed). More human features though. Was reminded of an actor wearing the Orc costume. Anyway, he's not bad. Like the background idea of an Orc being trained and infused with sorcerous power, believing himself to be highly important but really just a pawn for a Nazgul. In summary, pleased with it all, particularly the Black Guard and the Easterlings. No Khand though? Bit disappointed with that... |

| I must admit these are those kinds of models that the more I look at them, the better they seem to get. I no longer hate the Black Guard, or Kardush. I still like the Easterlings and Haradrim Commanders. But the only models I'm going to buy from this release are the Abrakhan Guard, look like great painting projects and the concept of them is very cool, I think Cal hit it right on the dot. They remind me somewhat of a 'Slaughterer'/'Butcherer' style body from 300 (maybe 300 is exactly what they had in mind with the new Haradrim? Think about it, The King on a throne, The bulgy Abrakhan Guard, The Haradrim with a whip - very persian based in my opinion). _________________ Regards, Jake. |
