Alrighty, my German's a bit rusty, but I think I can pick the German apart fine enough...

* The War of the Ring: Battlehosts. Cool. More books means more releases, more releases means extended license, extended license (since it was supposed to have expired by now) means miniatures for The Hobbit, miniatures for the Hobbit means GW will be forced to make their models look realistic again...at least that's where my train of thought goes. The concept of an expansion is intriguing too, I'll have to flip through it first though before making any judgments.

* Osgiliath Ruins kit. Sounds pretty nice for bums like me who can't make terrain worth a darn Wink

* Mauhur in a blister. Looks like they're releasing Mauhur separate from his banner carrier and musician, which is fine because they're bought separately in the formation too.

* Mauhur's Raiders Command. My beef with these lads, though I have not seen them yet, is that they will probably have overly large banners (scouts shouldn't have big banners) and they'll have drums (a scout should have a hon if they need to be musicians in the first place). Wasn't there an article on GW that had a ram skeleton banner and a hornblower scout a while back?

* Duinhir. Great, sounds good. Bring on the pics.

* ?????????. Absolutely no idea, though if I were to venture a guess, my guess would be its Hurin and a hornblower fromthe Warden of the Keys formation.

* The Dwimmerlaik. While I abhor the idea to "named" Nazgul, this guy may or may not be a nice model.

* New Faramir. Why? Perhaps this is a ranger Faramir on horseback (the price suggests that). The downside is it, like the recent Saruman and Eomer, his face will have little to no resemblance to the old ranger Faramir, who was modelled after the actor.

Overall. Aright. Several things are good sounding, but others I will have to wait and see before making a judgment.

That's my many cents. Cheers,
Fenrir

Alright, I just checked, "Schwarzgrundtal" translated literally means "black basic valley", so I assume this is a Blackroot Vale Archer command blister, which would contain...just a hornblower if they follow the rules presented in the book. Intriguing...let's see how this model is...if not as part of a WotR army, he may find use as a RPG character Smile

Spoiler:

The thing that shocks me is they seem to have command included in them!!! That something that LOTR has NEVER done. Fantasy maybe and 40k for some boxes but never lOTR

Just seen an interesting rumour on TLA - some people think that the mystering mini that appeared on the GW site a while back -

could be the new faramir mini.

I said this on O-R, but I'll reiterate it here:

I sure as cuss hope that mystery model isn't the new Faramir!

I understand GW may want to make a post War of the Ring Faramir like they did Eomer, though for a game that focuses around war, it seems daft to make a model of a character who was a kind ruler in times of peace.

Besides, WETA already made a costume for Faramir following the defeat of Sauron, and though that shield (a shield, for a ranger like Faramir, really?) covers up a lot of his armour, I can still perceive enough to see that it doesn't look like what is shown in the film.

Cheers,
Fenrir

Hopefully, it's just something made from extras on the SKoDA sprue rather than being a seperate mini. If the set is going to contain options for standards and horns, then maybe it also comes with a helmetless head and a sword for the captain.
